Amanda grew up in a Christian home but only really committed herself to God in the early 2000’s and was baptized in 2015. Today she calls Community Church her home church.
Areas in Amanda’s recovery journey include co-dependency, anger, and control. She’s battled the need to control situations and people around her, verses putting them in God’s hands. Like many of us, she’s also contended with fear of the unknown, especially the future. But in this season, Amanda has reached multiple levels of freedom in these areas.
Amanda is a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a follower of Jesus and a valued leader to many. The complexities of life nearly cost them their marriage – BUT GOD!!! She is not easily offended, extremely loyal and committed, and her firm but loving heart beats through and through.
Today she is learning to be content and at peace while being married to someone who struggles with his own spiritual and emotional well-being and identity. Sometimes they walk at a different pace, but ultimately, they’re both getting closer to Jesus.
Amanda explains, “I feel that I have been through so many various situations or I have gone through so many things with my spouse; there isn’t much we haven’t dealt with… I have victory but still have to work hard at my recovery.”
Like a true disciple, Amanda really enjoys watching and supporting others grow in their recovery and in their relationship with Jesus. “It motivates me.”
