Come as you are! Blue collar, white collar, unemployed or CEO – Satan wants us all and will get to each of us no matter our social status. Wednesday nights are for everyone. If you’re here, it’s because God wants you to be. It’s that simple.
What’s unique about Celebrate Recovery meetings is that you will recognize the elements of the meeting no matter where you go across the country. Like a franchise restaurant, they’re basically the same, but we have the liberty to express ourselves in different ways.
When you come to Kettlebrook on Wednesday night, you’ll be greeted with a smile. Grab a bottle of water and socialize a bit, then head into the sanctuary. We typically start at 6:30 with three modern era worship songs. Music helps us condition our mind and relax our bodies to enter into this time of healing and restoration. Then we review the 12 steps of the program or the 8 biblical principles they are built on. Following that, we dedicate 15 to 20 minutes to receiving a lesson in recovery, or we’ll hear someone’s personal recovery testimony. These are both so Powerful!! Finally, we will take a few minutes to celebrate sobriety or abstinence birthdays. What a blessing to see the work God is doing. This first half of the meeting takes about 50 minutes.
After a ten-minute break, we split off into small groups. Usually two groups for the men, and two for the women. Besides being gender specific, you’re not bound to which group you attend – whether addiction related; drugs, alcohol, or sex; or non-addiction, such as depression, anxiety, or grief. These are just a few examples of the many issues we face. In the small group, we’re each given an opportunity to express what’s on our mind. It’s a safe place to share; you won’t be interrupted, you won’t be “fixed.” But we ARE there to support you through it. We’ll close up these meetings with prayer and unless you stick around for more open fellowship, you’ll be on the road by 8:30 PM.
There is healing in sharing. Sometimes we need a meeting. Sometimes the meeting needs us. We’ll see you Wednesday!
Meetings: Wednesday’s from 6:30 – 8:30pm at Kettlebrook Community Center.
Doors open at 6:00 for fellowship!
